Desktop Shredder V2

from £2,745.00

A bench-top electric plastic shredder built for workshops, makerspaces, and educational facilities. The Desktop Shredder V2 shreds waste plastic into consistent 5mm or 8mm granules at up to 20 kg/hr, ready for injection moulding or further recycling. It handles a wide range of thermoplastics including PP, HDPE, LDPE, PLA, PETG, PS, ABS, and Acrylic, among many others.

At 85 kg with a 77 x 35 x 64 cm footprint, it is a serious piece of equipment. The 1.5 kW motor runs through a 1:40 worm gear gearbox at 36 rpm for high-torque, low-speed shredding. Multiple safety interlocks are built in as standard, including a door interlock, hopper interlock, and emergency stop. The machine is CE and UKCA certified.

The Desktop Shredder V2 is a 220V, 50Hz machine. There is no 110V version, as the motor is designed for 50Hz mains frequency. Customers in 110V countries (USA, Canada, Japan, etc.) can use the machine with a 2 kW step-up transformer, available from retailers such as Amazon. If you also own a Fume Extractor V2, both machines can share a single 2 kW transformer.

Key Features

  • Up to 20 kg/hr output: high-throughput shredding with the standard 8mm mesh.
  • 5mm or 8mm granule sizes: standard 8mm mesh included; optional 5mm mesh available separately.
  • 1.5 kW motor with 1:40 worm gearbox: high torque at 36 rpm for consistent shredding.
  • Reversible operation: rotate the switch to reverse and clear jams without stopping.
  • VFD speed control: adjustable motor frequency for different materials and feed rates.
  • Three safety interlocks: door interlock, hopper interlock, and emergency stop as standard.
  • 59 dB unloaded noise level: quiet enough for office-adjacent spaces.
  • Optional vacuum attachment: for clean granule extraction and reduced mess.
  • CE and UKCA certified: compliant with EU and UK machinery directives.
  • Powder coated steel frame: built for long-term workshop use.
  • 220V only: UK, EU, and AU plugs available. 110V customers require a 2 kW step-up transformer.

Purchase Options

Kit: all parts and hardware with a step-by-step digital build guide. Total assembly time is approximately 7 to 8 hours. The practical choice for anyone who wants to understand the machine fully.

Partially Built: the machine ships partially assembled. Full assembly is not possible within a single shipping box at this size, so some assembly is always required. The Partially Built option reduces the work needed on arrival.

Both options include a country-specific plug and ship globally via UPS Carbon Neutral shipping.
