Fume
Extractor V2

Dual-mode extraction, mandatory for safe processing.

The Fume Extractor V2 is a portable extraction unit designed and built in the UK by Sustainable Design Studio, to pair with your Injection Mini V2, Extruder Mini V2, or any of our desktop machines. Plastic processing releases fumes that can be harmful if inhaled, so extraction is mandatory for safe operation.

530m³/hr

A HEPA pre-filter catches particulates from the moment fumes leave the barrel, then activated carbon traps the volatile compounds released during plastic molding. Mandatory protection whenever you melt or extrude thermoplastic, in either inline or standalone mode.

Dual mode

Vent outside or filter on the bench

Connect to outside ducting via the Ø100mm port to vent fumes away, or run standalone as a benchtop carbon filter for spaces where outdoor ducting is impractical.

Plastic processing releases fumes that can be harmful if inhaled. We strongly recommend fume extraction whenever you melt or extrude any thermoplastic. The FEV2 is designed to pair seamlessly with the Injection Mini V2, Extruder Mini V2, and any of our machines with a Ø100mm extraction port.
Yes. The FEV2 runs in dual mode: inline (connected to outside ducting via the Ø100mm port) or standalone (as a benchtop carbon filter). The standalone mode is designed for spaces where outdoor ducting is impractical, like shared workshops and classrooms.
The FEV2 is a 220-240V, 50Hz unit only. There is no 110V version. To run it in the USA, Canada, Japan, or anywhere else on 110V mains, use a small step-up transformer (110V to 220V). The FEV2 only draws 100 to 150W, so even a low-rated transformer works. If you also own a Desktop Shredder V2, both machines can share a single 2kW step-up transformer.
Yes. We ship worldwide with carbon-neutral delivery as standard, and have shipped to 94 countries to date. Default invoicing is in GBP; we can also issue invoices in EUR, USD, or CAD on request.
Yes. The Ø100mm port is our standard extraction connection. You can swap it between an Injection Mini V2 and an Extruder Mini V2, or run two machines in sequence using the standalone mode. For full-time use across multiple machines we recommend dedicated FEV2 units per workstation.
The activated carbon filter lasts approximately 6 months in standalone mode, depending on plastic type and usage volume. In inline mode (venting outside) the filter is the secondary stage and lasts much longer. Replacement filters are available from Sustainable Design Studio, email contact@sustainabledesign.studio for stock and pricing.
