Shredder
Mini V2
Hand-cranked recycling, mains-free.
The Shredder Mini V2 is a compact, hand-cranked desktop plastic shredder designed and built in the UK by Sustainable Design Studio, for home workshops, schools, and makerspaces. Turn waste plastic, bottle caps, and 3D print off-cuts into consistent flakes ready for injection moulding or extrusion.
- Hand-operated tool, no mains required
- 12 month worldwide warranty
- Carbon neutral shipping
Zero watts. Same shred, no plug required.
The cheapest entry to plastic recycling, designed for human power. The 19 mm hex shaft accepts any wrench, ratchet, or battery drill, so you can crank by hand or fit a motor for higher throughput.
Built for human power, ready for a drill
No electricity required
Crank by hand, or fit a battery drill to the 19 mm hex shaft for faster throughput. Either way, the SMV2 works anywhere, off-grid, in the classroom, or on the bench, with no mains plug needed.
Bench-top footprint
At up to 12 kg and 16 × 37 × 38 cm (D × W × H), the SMV2 sits on any workbench. The optional table mount adds a safety hopper and clamps the unit firmly in place for hands-free cranking.
Works with drills and ratchets
The 19 mm (3/4 inch) universal hex shaft accepts any standard wrench, ratchet, or battery drill. Add a low-RPM motor and the SMV2 runs continuously at around 40 RPM at the shaft, up to 80 Nm torque.
Watch the SMV2 turn waste into feedstock
From loading bottle caps and 3D print off-cuts to clean shredded flake, the whole cycle, uncut. Watch the 19 mm hex shaft run by hand and by drill, and see the output drop straight into the collection tray ready for the Injection Mini V2.

Five refinements, one redesigned machine
Globally shippable
The whole machine ships in one box anywhere in the world, no pallet required. V1 needed a multi-box shipment for the table-mount configuration.
Better tolerances
Laser-cut precision on every panel and shaft housing. Less play in the drive train means cleaner flakes and a quieter shred.
More robust build
Improved assembly and a beefier frame. The V2 is built to take real workshop use, week in, week out.
Universal hex shaft
A 19 mm (3/4 inch) hex shaft replaces the V1 fixed crank. Drive it with a wrench, ratchet, drill, or low-RPM motor, your choice.
Better in every way
Every upgrade above lands at V1 prices. From £200 as a kit, the SMV2 stays the cheapest plastic shredder we make.
